| PIP's Betwixt Xmas/New Year Walk. Meeting point: Old Roan Station at 11.15am (Northern Line to Ormskirk) Total approximate walking time: 2 hours. This walk is mainly on flat, sealed ground but some muddy and wet areas on the canalside. There is a slight incline in the Reserve. Sturdy footwear is recommended plus warm, waterproof clothing. Route: We'll walk alongside the scenic Leeds to Liverpool canal for about an hour before a lunch at the Cookson Bridge Pub. After lunch, we'll walk further along the towpath before entering Rimrose Valley Nature Reserve for approximately 30 minutes.
